CFP Progress

OK, so I took a little time off this summer from my studies of the Certified Financial Planner program at Boston University.  But the good news is that I only have 2-remaining modules; Estate Planning, and Retirement Planning, and am still on track to finish the education portion by mid October 2011.  My, how a year goes by when you study!!

The last module I covered was Federal Taxation.  While it was a real challenge, I now have a greater respect for the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) who do this on a daily basis.  About half of the planning advice I provide to clients makes some effect on their tax liability—so this section is/was very informative and interesting.  That is a reason why CPAs and Financial Planners form such a symbiotic relationship in the planning process for clients.  [Note:  The third component—and no less important– is an Estate Planning Attorney.]

I will keep you posted on my progress as I finish up the educational portion and prepare for the National test.  I will also be sure to integrate my new found knowledge into our planning process.  And it should go without being said, that your interests are always above mine, no matter what type of financial planning, investment, or insurance planning we engage in.   Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I look forward to seeing you soon!
