Last month, Arktos Wealth Management (AWM) participated in Crescenta Valley High School’s Career Fair. Students were able to inquire about the benefits, qualifications, and attributes connected to a wide variety of career paths. AWM was a proud representative of the financial services industry.
One observation that I personally took away from this event was the variety of questions and interest regarding the subject of personal finance. My brief conversations with students reinforced what I already knew; that there has not been enough, if any, education in the subject of financial literacy provided by our schools.
Recently, Glendale Unified School District has begun discussions on how to provide financial education to our students in the classroom. And while financial decision making has been an issue since caveman first exchanged services for a payment, here we are in the year 2019 and there is still no formalized format to educate our youth. This made me realize that Arktos Wealth could help to fill this gaping hole in the curriculum with some financial education and awareness via community outreach.
On Tuesday, May 28th, AWM is providing a FREE financial literacy event catered to teens (and their parents if interested) by providing key information on the most important aspects of personal finance. This 1.5 hour event hosted at the Montrose Library will provide teens the necessary information needed to start a lifetime of smart financial decision making. Debt, credit cards, interest rates, loans, taxes, credit scores, and more will be discussed. Attendees will have an opportunity to have their questions answered.
Please share this information with any teen in your life that you feel could benefit from learning important elements for establishing a sound financial future. RSVP directly at 818-249-4984 or [email protected] to reserve your seat today. See you there!
