Let’s Make a Plan

Did you ever wonder how Olympic athletes can take their physical ability so far?  It’s because they had a “plan” to get there.  They had a plan to train in a specific manner, a plan to eat specific foods, and a plan to allow their bodies to recover during extensive training sessions.  In short, they are great because they followed a plan to get where they are.  So I ask you: “Are you on track to achieve your goals—financially speaking?  Do you have a plan?”

The Certified Financial Planner board has created a website www.letsmakeaplan.org to benefit the public on the nature and importance of financial planning.  They are aware of the skepticism surrounding the world of finance  (thanks in part to Primerica and Bernie Madoff) over the past few years, and realize that people still need and want good advice.  With the launch of their new awareness campaign to help the general public, the CFP board has created a site to educate the public on ‘what’ they should be looking for in a financial planner, and what a true financial plan entails.

My firm and I prepare customized financial plans for a variety of needs. If you have a friend who enjoys managing their own insurance, finance, and tax situations, they might prefer to receive a financial plan (or road map) as opposed to letting a professional advisor manage their assets or insurance policies.  Plans range in cost from $350 to $5,000 and the complexity and depth of these reports can provide insight into nearly every facet of your life.  This becomes especially important when you start to consider estate planning and the effects of taxes from not having a strategic plan.

Check out the benefits of working with a Certified Financial Planner.  Conduct your own due diligence, and learn how to protect yourself against financial fraud, bad investment advice, or becoming a victim to sales focused advisors.  When you’re ready to take the next step, give me a call.  My open dialogue and transparent business practice should help put you at ease.  In the meantime, click on the consumer literacy link below to learn about the importance of a financial plan, and more importantly, selecting the right professional to create one for you:
